Ag Promotion Grants
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation announces the Ag Promotion Grant program for the promotion of agriculture in Minnesota. County Farm Bureaus may apply for a $800 grant to develop and implement a new activity or event that addresses one or more of the following priority areas:
- Communicates the economic and social value of livestock agriculture,
- Promotes the use and benefits of bio-diesel and other renewable fuels,
- Educates farmers on the importance of improving soybean quality,
- Involves farmers in local TMDL project efforts and
- Promotes the concept that farmers are good conservationists/stewards of our natural resources.

Foundation Grant Proposals
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation reviews grant requests twice a year with distribution of funds completed in October and May. Funding requests must be received by September 1 in order to be considered for the October distribution. Funding requests must be received by April 1 to be considered for May distribution.
Funding requests must meet the mission of the Foundation.
Mission: To provide opportunities for supporters of agriculture to invest in people and programs that promote agriculture and the environment through safety training, agricultural education and leadership training.
All funding requests should include a detailed letter of request along with any supporting information. Requests must be submitted in writing and mailed to:

Promotion & Education (P&E) grants
Each year the Minnesota Farm Bureau Promotion & Education (P&E) Committee in conjunction with the Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation offer a mini-grant opportunity to county Farm Bureaus to assist in funding special programs. This year $4,000 is available to be awarded through this grant process.
Criteria:
- The grant must be used for special programs such as Ag in the Classroom activities, farm safety education, Young Farmers & Ranchers programs (not district meetings), etc. Questions can be directed to 651-768-2118.
- County Farm Bureaus must submit a copy of the county program budget and a copy of the county Farm Bureau budget with the grant application.
- The funds cannot be used for T-shirts, refreshments or "little extras." The funds are to be used for program material, promoting the program, or special speakers.
- Maximum amount of each grant is $200.
- Counties must have a Promotion & Education chair registered with the Minnesota Farm Bureau.
- Grants must be received by March 1. A committee will select the grant recipients.
