Farm Bureau Day Celebrated at Farmfest

Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) President Kevin Paap together with American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Vice President Scott VanderWal welcomed Farmfest attendees today to the free pancake breakfast. Farm Bureau served over 1,000 people in the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.

As part of Farm Bureau Day at Farmfest, AFBF Vice President VanderWal and Don Parish - AFBF Senior Director Governmental Regulations were on the afternoon “Buffers, WOTUS and Agriculture Water Quality Issues” panel.

Pork Chops
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation and the Lyon County Farm Bureau are serving pork chops on a stick throughout the duration of the show on the north central side at the end of Sixth Street. This fundraiser raises funds for agriculture and safety education, agricultural leadership development and agricultural research programs. Besides pork chops, Schwan’s ice cream, pickles and assorted beverages will also be served. The booth is located on the north central side at the end of Sixth Street in booth #007.

Farm Safety
The Farm Safety Carnival for kids runs all three days in the craft tent and is co-sponsored with the RedBrownVille Farm Safety 4 Just Kids Chapters.

In the Farm Bureau tent, the agriculture transportation handbook, grain bridging stickers and free ear plugs are available.

Stop by the Farm Bureau Financial Services tent – located just north of the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center (booth/lot F2) on Sixth Street. Register for a chance to win a Big Green Egg.
