Washington-Ramsey County Farm Bureau Member Qualifies for Top Ten in National Contest

Mike Miron of Washington-Ramsey County qualified for the Top 10 in the Excellence in Agriculture national competition at the American Farm Bureau Federation's (AFBF) Annual Meeting. The contest is being held during the AFBF Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida which runs January 8-12.

Miron advanced to the AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) competition after capturing top honors in the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Contest in November. This contest is designed as an opportunity for young farmers and ranchers who may not farm 100 percent of the time to earn recognition while actively contributing to agriculture and building their leadership skills through their involvement in Farm Bureau and their community.

Mike is the fifth generation to live and work on the family’s dairy and crop farm near Hugo. He is a high school teacher and FFA advisor at Forest Lake.

Nearly 60 Farm Bureau members from Minnesota are among the nearly 7,000 Farm Bureau members representing each state and Puerto Rico at the AFBF Annual Meeting. The meeting also features workshops and seminars, as well as, the national resolutions session which set policies for the upcoming year.
