Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Statement Regarding the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015

“Minnesota farmers and ranchers are supportive of the passage of the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015 by the U.S. House of Representatives,” said Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) President Kevin Paap. “Thank you to Representatives Tim Walz, John Kline, Erik Paulsen, Betty McCollum, Tom Emmer and Collin Peterson for voting for a national uniform labeling standard that will prevent unnecessary complications and costs associated with a patchwork of state labeling laws.”

“The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation supports all farmers and ranchers and common sense, science-based regulations that ensure consumers are receiving the safest and healthiest food possible,” said Paap. “This bill will enhance transparency and provide consistency in our food labels to improve consumer confidence.”
