Kuschel of Sebeka Elected American Farm Bureau YF&R Vice Chair

Members of the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Committee elected Miles Kuschel of Sebeka in Cass County as the committee’s vice chair for 2015. He will begin the vice chair duties in February, at the end of the AFBF’s FUSION Conference and serve for one year.

“I'm truly honored to have been selected by my peers to serve as Vice Chair this coming year,” said Miles. “I look forward to continuing to build and develop the leadership skills that MFBF has instilled in me. Being an advocate for agriculture is a great way to ensure that American agriculture will remain strong.”

Miles and his wife, Sarah, will be serving their second year of a two-year term on the AFBF YF&R Committee. They are the third generation on their rotational based cow/calf grazing ranch, raising Angus and Angus Cross beef cattle. They ranch with Miles’ parents and grandparents, along with their three children The Kuschels served on the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) YF&R Committee from 2008-2011, and Miles served as the chair in 2011.

The YF&R program includes men and women between the ages of 18 and 35. The program’s goals are to help younger Farm Bureau members learn more about agriculture, network with other farmers and realize their full potential as leaders in agriculture and Farm Bureau.
