Congressman Tim Walz Receives Minnesota Farm Bureau "Friend of Farm Bureau" Award

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is proud to award Congressman Tim Walz the 2014 “Friend of Farm Bureau” award. This is the second time he has received the award.

“Representative Walz continues to demonstrate his commitment and support to agriculture,” said MFBF President Kevin Paap. “Through his leadership on the House Committee on Agriculture, Representative Walz has been a strong advocate through passage and implementation of the Farm Bill. In addition, his support for Minnesota’s farmers and landowners in standing up to the Environmental Protection Agency to oppose the proposed bureaucratic overreach on the definition of “Waters of the United States” is appreciated by Minnesota Farm Bureau. He deserves our thanks for sharing Farm Bureau’s dedication to enhancing the lives of farm families in the 1st Congressional District and across the state.”

The “Friend of Farm Bureau” award is given to individuals who have supported Farm Bureau issues, as demonstrated by their voting records. The voting records were based on issues selected by the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors.

Members of the Minnesota delegation who received the 2014 “Friend of Farm Bureau” award are Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Representatives Tim Walz, John Kline, Erik Paulsen and Collin Peterson.
