Farm Bureau Day Celebrated at Farmfest

Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) President Kevin Paap kicked off Farm Bureau Day at Farmfest on Wednesday with a free pancake breakfast serving nearly 1,200 people in the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.

Pork Chops

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation and the Lyon County Farm Bureau are serving up pork chops on a stick throughout the duration of the show. This fundraiser will raise funds for agriculture and safety education, agricultural leadership development and agricultural research programs. Besides pork chops, Schwan’s ice cream, pickles and assorted beverages will also be served. The booth is located on the north central side at the end of Sixth Street next to the Livestock Demonstration tent.

Farm Safety Carnival

The Farm Safety Carnival runs all three days in the Farm Bureau tent and is co-sponsored with the local Farm Safety 4 Just Kids chapters. The Safety Carnival offers hands on learning for children and families about avoiding farm dangers and how to be safe while on the farm.

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation is among more than 600 companies displaying at this year’s Farmfest which runs through August 7 at the Gilfillan Estate in Redwood County, Minnesota.
